In the Metaphysical world one hears about Gratitude quite often as a way to raise one’s vibration and shift energy. So what exactly does that mean? How can being grateful about anything raise your vibration.
The definition of gratitude is: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation and to return kindness.
Ok so if we are thankful, we get a good, warm fuzzy feeling inside of us, we start to feel good about ourselves and the Universe we live in and we get more good, warm fuzzy feelings, and our vibration goes up. So where do we start. Start where you feel comfortable. Sometimes we must begin with being grateful for the bed we sleep in, or the breath that is moving in and out of our bodies, or even the food we have to eat. Being thankful for the job you go to everyday that pays for the roof over your head.
There are many things in your life to be grateful for, just look around and pay attention. There is a saying “But for the Grace of God go I.” When you look around and see the homeless, the starving, say a prayer to the Universe to show your appreciation for what you do have and if possible show kindness to those less fortunate. For each act of kindness, the Universe/Source/ Creator notices and in turn more kindness, and appreciation is shown to you.
The object is to keep your energy high and to keep it there. When you are in a state of Love and Gratitude nothing else can enter your field. Anger, fear, and hatred can’t be in a person at the same time as love and gratitude. If you feel your energy dropping, then settle your energy and then tap back into the energy of gratitude.
There are a few ways to help you with shifting your energy:
1.Be grateful for whatever comes into your mind. See how long you can keep the flow going. Do a meditation for 10-15 minutes a day and quiet the mind and tap into the energy of Gratitude around you and see it in your mind’s eye and you will see it in the physical. What you put out to the Universe you will get back tenfold.
2.Create a gratitude notebook – start with being grateful for what you already have. As you write down any positive aspects or gratitude for someone or something you will raise yourself to a higher vibration and be in the position to experience and attract more.
Ex:your health…list all the ways your body works for you.
3.Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. It consists of 4 short sentences and they pack a punch when said consistently. The four sentences are: I’m sorry; please forgive me; thank you; and I love you. These saying’s alone when said with intent will help raise your vibration and remove negative energy from your auric field.
Other than Love, Gratitude is the most powerful energy on the planet. When you are grateful for what you have your energy radiates this out to the Universe, and by the Law of Attraction, you can only receive the same kind of energy in return.
Our thoughts, words and actions determine what we manifest in our lives by sending out this vibration of our consciousness, which attracts to us the people and events who share the same vibration. Keep being thankful for these people and events and reap the benefits of a grateful mind.
As an example from my own life, my temporary assignment that I was on ended and I asked the agency to make sure they got another assignment for me for the next week. I didn’t hear back from them, so I called and the recruiter pretended this was the first that she heard my assignment was over. This created much anger in me and I ranted and trash talked the agency to no end to anyone who would listen.
Did it get me an assignment – NO, if fact just the opposite has happened – they have refused to call me for an assignment and they won’t return my calls. Yes, karma will head their direction, but the point was a lesson from Spirit to me, a test if you will, to see how far I had come in my learning and training. It took a couple of days to “see” what Spirit was teaching me and once I did I immediately sent out Love and Gratitude for the 12 ½ yrs. that I worked for them, and then cut the cords so that I could move on to bigger and better things. I did Ho’oponopono for 2 days to help me regain my balance and get back to a state of Gratitude and Love for myself.
In hind sight the Universe gave me what I had been asking for, the time to work on my books and to get some of my articles written. I send the Universe much Love and Gratitude for the lesson and the opportunity.
So before creating an issue where there might not be one, check in with yourself and see if there is something you have been asking from the Universe. The answer doesn’t always come to us in a way we might think. Spirit always takes every opportunity to help us learn our lessons, if we will just step out of our own way so that we may grow with ease and grace, love and gratitude.
So to the Universe I say thank you, I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me. Next time I’ll do a better job of being in a state of gratitude for the roof over my head, the money in the bank, the food I have to eat, the clothes on my back and my car. Simple things that lead to a higher vibration, appreciation for life, kindness to me, and for my friends who were there to listen and not judge. Will it happen again? Probably, hopefully not, but I am human after all. I pray that if there is a next time, the lesson will be learned much faster and it won’t take so long to raise the vibration of the body back to that of Love and Gratitude.
Remember to always Walk in Beauty.
